Media Center :: Using HTTP Downloads
You're probably annoyed by the fact that we require you to register for the downloads, and we understand that. The sad truth is that bandwidth isn't free, and if we didn't have this system, we wouldn't be able to offer you this media service at all. We still offer all the same files to the public through BitTorrent, so if you don't want to complete the requirements listed below, you can always use the tracker.

To gain access to the HTTP download area, you must have an SWMB account, make at least 50 posts on the boards, and be registered there for at least two months. Yes, two months (60 days, actually) is a long time, and we know that. However, you can't just register, post 50 spam messages, and then wait for two months. You have to be active over the course of those two months, meaning you must visit the boards at least 10 different times. We track all of this in the approval process. The reason for this absurdity is that we don't want the currently existing members of the Sonic World Community to have poor quality service as a result of people from other sites who come just to download the files and go back to their own boards. Access to the HTTP downloads is a benefit of being a member of the SWMB. In fact, without the assistance of SWMB members and their willingness to let us use their services, the media center wouldn't exist.

If you meet this criteria and you don't see the HTTP downloads, logout and log back into SWMB.

If you weren't so pissed off that you closed this window after reading the first sentence of that paragraph, you can click the link below to register:

Our Servers
Sonic World Media Center is made possible by the[d+pad]network. Its server administrators have offered filespace and bandwidth for each file in the media center. The servers and their specifications are as follows:
SWNet: Maintianed by Gamerguy. SWNet is the only paid server of the media center. It's the server that hosts the page you're looking at now, along with all of Sonic World and SWMB. It has a 100 GB / month bandwidth limit, hosted by Shyper.
ENet: Maintained by Chaohero. Chaohero is currently an admin at the SWMB and one of Sonic World Studio's primary staff members. His server is run off of his home connection and usually offers very reliable download speeds. ENet also hosts Sonic World's Oekaki BBS.
+Net: Maintained by Gamerguy. +Net is run off of Gamerguy's home internet connection, so it's not the fastest thing in the world. +Net is also the DPN's primary server.
